Premium Omega-3 and Omega-6 fish oil supplement for cats – key ingredient in Meowholic Vitamin Popsicles cat treats

Premium Fish Oil Omega-3 & Omega-6

Fish oil has been recognised by veterinarians worldwide as one of the most powerful natural supplements for cats supporting everything from coat health to joint mobility.

Promotes a shiny, healthy coat and reduces shedding

Supports supple joints and everyday mobility

Helps reduce skin inflammation and dryness

Supported by peer-reviewed research. Results may vary per individual cat. Read research below 👇
Purina — Omega-3 Benefits for Cats

According to Purina's nutritional research, Omega-3 fatty acids support a shiny coat, healthy skin, and joint mobility in cats. Read more →

Key Findings:

1. Shiny Coat & Less Shedding
Omega-3 fatty acids help give cats a fuller, shinier coat and improve the overall health of hair follicles, which can decrease the amount of hair shed — meaning fewer hairballs during self-grooming. Purina

2. Healthy Skin
Omega-3s have anti-inflammatory properties, making them beneficial for cats with allergies, dry skin, or hotspots. Purina

3. Joint Health & Mobility
Omega-3s decrease inflammation in the joints, particularly helpful for older cats with arthritis. A specific study found that cats receiving daily fish oil doses were better able to get around — including jumping and navigating stairs — compared to cats given corn oil without omega-3s. Purina

4. What to Look For on Labels
Pet owners can look for fish oil or fishmeal listed as an ingredient, or check if the product is enriched with DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid).

PMC / NIH — 23 Studies on Fish Oil in Cats & Dogs

Supported by peer-reviewed research published in In Vivo Journal (PMC8193331, NIH). EPA & DHA from fish oil has demonstrated proven benefits for coat health, skin, and joint health in cats. Read the study →

Key Findings:

1. Haircoat & Skin
EPA and DHA supplementation showed measurable improvement in haircoat condition based on seborrheic scoring — one study found significant improvement in haircoat quality after just 6 weeks of marine oil supplementation. The therapy should continue for at least 2 months, with effects lasting one additional month after withdrawal. PubMed Central

2. Skin & Allergy Conditions
A therapeutic benefit was found in canine and feline allergic dermatitis, supporting the use of omega-3s for cats with sensitive or reactive skin. PubMed Central

3. Joint & Mobility Health
Both dogs and cats with osteoarthritis showed clear benefits from EPA/DHA supplementation, supporting joint health and mobility. PubMed Central

4. Heart Health
Dogs with valvular disease and chronic heart failure also showed benefits from omega-3 supplementation. PubMed Central

5. Overall Conclusion
EPA and DHA supplementation has proven benefits in the adjuvant treatment of various diseases in dogs and cats, making it one of the most frequently prescribed nutraceuticals in small animal veterinary practice. PubMed Central

6. Why Fish Oil Specifically
Since dogs and cats have very limited ability to bioconvert ALA into EPA and DHA on their own, these omega-3 fatty acids must be supplied through diet — with fish and fish-oil products such as salmon oil being the primary source.

Key Findings:

1. What Fish Oil Is
Fish oil is made from coldwater fish — commonly salmon, mackerel, trout, and some shellfish. It is a rich source of two critical omega-3 fatty acids: DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid). DHA is essential for growing kittens, while EPA is important across all life stages. PetMD

2. Natural Anti-Inflammatory
DHA and EPA are known to act as natural anti-inflammatory agents in cats — the same reason fish oil has been used in human medicine for hundreds of years, originally for treating rheumatism and joint-related conditions. PetMD

3. Skin Allergies & Skin Disease
Fish oil is commonly given to cats with allergic or inflammatory skin disease. It helps reduce itchiness by decreasing the production of inflammatory stimulators called cytokines, and improves dry, flaking skin. PetMD

4. Arthritis & Joint Health
For cats with arthritis, fish oil helps decrease inflammation in the joints. PetMD

5. Suitable for All Life Stages
EPA is important for cats at all life stages, while DHA is specifically required for growing kittens — making fish oil relevant for both young and adult cats.

Frequently asked questions

Transparency matters when it comes to what you feed your cat daily. Below you'll find answers to the most common questions about Meowholic Vitamin Popsicles on how they work, what's inside, and how we ensure quality in every sachet.

WHAT MAKES MEOWHOLIC VITAMIN POPSICLES DIFFERENT FROM REGULAR CAT TREATS?

Most cat treats are made with fillers, artificial flavours, and zero nutritional value they're just empty calories. Meowholic Vitamin Popsicles are different. Every sachet is made with real frozen meat as the primary ingredient, fortified with 17 essential vitamins and minerals including Taurine, Biotin, and a full B-vitamin complex. It's not just a treat it's a daily vitamin supplement your cat actually wants to eat.

WHAT QUALITY AND MANUFACTURING STANDARDS DOES MEOWHOLIC FOLLOW?

Meowholic Vitamin Popsicles are manufactured in facilities certified under three internationally recognised standards:

ISO 9001 — Ensures consistent product quality and strict quality control at every stage of manufacturing, from raw ingredients to finished product.

ISO 14001 — Certifies that our facilities operate with environmental responsibility, including responsible sourcing and sustainable production practices.

HACCP — The gold standard in food safety. Systematically controls potential biological, chemical, and physical hazards throughout the entire production process.

Every sachet is produced under these combined standards so you can feed your cat with full confidence.

CAN I GIVE THIS TO MY KITTEN?

Yes but with guidance. Our feeding guide recommends starting from 2 months old. For kittens aged 2–5 months, 1 sachet per day is sufficient. Always ensure your kitten is also on a complete and balanced main diet. If in doubt, consult your veterinarian before introducing any supplement.

How soon will I see results?

Most cat owners begin noticing changes within 2–4 weeks of daily use. The first signs are usually a shinier coat and improved energy levels. Digestive improvements and reduced shedding typically follow with continued daily use. Results vary between individual cats depending on age, health status, and existing diet.

CAN I GIVE BOTH FLAVOR AT THE SAME TIME?

Absolutely and we actually encourage it! Both Fresh Chicken & Goat Milk and Fresh Salmon & Goat Milk share the same vitamin and mineral profile, so there's no risk of over-supplementation. Rotating between both variants gives your cat flavour variety and keeps mealtime exciting. Many of our customers use one variant as a morning topper and the other as an evening treat.

MY CAT IS A PICKY EATER WILL THEY ACTUALLY EAT THIS?

This is our most asked question and our most confident answer. Meowholic Vitamin Popsicles are made with real frozen chicken breast, salmon, and chicken liver as primary ingredients. The natural meat aroma and smooth liquid texture are extremely palatable even for the fussiest cats. You can serve it directly, squeeze it onto a lick mat, or drizzle it over their existing food. If your cat doesn't take to it immediately, try warming the sachet slightly in warm water for 30 seconds before serving.

IS IT SAFE FOR CATS WITH SENSITIVE STOMACHS?

Yes in most cases. Our formula uses Whole Goat Milk Powder instead of cow's milk, which is significantly gentler on digestion due to its lower lactose content and smaller fat globules. We also include natural fibre sources (pumpkin and yam) in the Fresh Chicken variant to support healthy gut motility. However, if your cat has a diagnosed digestive condition, always consult your veterinarian before introducing any new food.

HOW MANY SACHETS CAN I GIVE PER DAY?

Follow our feeding guide based on your cat's age and weight:

  • 2–5 months — 1 sachet per day
  • 6 months & above, under 8KG — 2 sachets per day
  • 6 months & above, over 8KG — 3 sachets per day

Do not exceed the recommended daily amount. Vitamin Popsicles are designed as a supplement — they should complement, not replace, your cat's main balanced diet.

CAN I GIVE THIS TO A PREGNANT OR NURSING CAT?

We do not recommend giving Meowholic Vitamin Popsicles to pregnant cats. Our formula contains a higher protein content which may cause the kitten to grow oversize, potentially complicating delivery. For nursing cats, consult your veterinarian first as nutritional needs change significantly during this period.

DOES IT CONTAIN ANY ARTIFICIAL PRESERVATIVES OR FLAVOURINGS?

No. Meowholic Vitamin Popsicles contain no artificial preservatives, no artificial flavourings, and no added colours. The palatability comes entirely from real meat ingredients such as frozen chicken breast, salmon, and chicken liver. The product is kept in a sealed sachet format to maintain freshness without the need for artificial preservation.

CAN I USE THIS AS A MEAL REPLACEMENT?

No, Vitamin Popsicles are designed as a daily supplement and treat, not a complete meal. Cats require a nutritionally complete and balanced main diet to meet all of their caloric and nutritional needs. Think of Vitamin Popsicles the way you'd think of a daily multivitamin, it enhances your cat's nutrition but does not replace a proper meal.

MY CAT HAS A MEDICAL CONDITION IS THIS SAFE?

If your cat has a pre-existing medical condition particularly kidney disease, liver disease, or is currently on medication please consult your veterinarian before introducing Vitamin Popsicles. Our formula is high in protein, which may not be suitable for cats managing certain conditions. As stated on our packaging: avoid giving this product to cats with kidney problems due to high protein content.
